Have you ever heard the phrase of “Every cloud has a silver lining?”. This phrase was written by John Milton, an English poet in 17th century. Do you wonder what is the meaning of silver-lining? Let’s find out the definition of the phrase!
The definition of Silver-lining
Silver-lining signifies as an optimistic idiom for us because its meaning of this phrase does determine “a good aspect of a mostly bad event.” So, the phrase that I remarked above meaning of said to emphasize that every difficult or unpleasant situation has some advantage. Guess, what I have this experience just like the phrase told just today…
Here’s my “Every cloud has a silver lining” story:
In a late morning after I worked out in a fitness center, I was really hungry and unable figuring out what do I want to eat for my lunch. Few minutes later, I remembered that I still had a discounted pizza coupon, which will be expired on this day.” So, pizza became my lunch choice for today; I called Pizza Hut ordering New Orleans Chicken pizza and Pepperoni Pizza. At the same moment that I still talked to Pizza Hut call center, my relative asked me ordering Hawaiian pizza and Cheese pizza for her and her colleagues. An half hour later, four pizzas were delivered, She and I paid for the pizzas but then soon I opened our pizzas, Veggie pizza was here instead of Hawaiian pizza. Most people in the group don’t like the Veggie pizza. What an unexpected bummer situation that had happened, right?
So, I called back the call center and the female operator later apologized us for a mistake and then finally, guess what happened later? The company has responded on this mistake by giving us a veggie pizza for free and then in few minutes later, the Hawaiian pizza was arrived in our home later.
In conclusion, despite we were unlucky with an incorrect order from Pizza Hut but in a positive aspect, we got the free veggie pizza in return for a mistake where I got the pizza for my sole leftovers as the rest of the group do not like the veggie pizza.
Moral of the story: remember to turn a mistake into an opportunity, by turning a negativity into an optimistic one…
Whenever there is a mistake or an error that you found, using this reason to support yourself. Taking a chance to redeem what you shall deserve. By being in an optimistic mindset, why don’t you grab the positive aspect out of a mostly bad event like the idiom of “Silver-lining.” You may become happier with an outcome than the usual circumstance that you ordinarily had in a normal day.
